Southern California boasts a Mediterranean climate, meaning warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. However, coastal areas often experience “June Gloom”—overcast mornings that clear by afternoon. LAYER UP to stay comfortable throughout the day. A light shawl or cover up can make all the difference in your day!

The Amtrack runs from LA all the way down to San Diego – it’s one of the most chill ways to enjoy our coastline and relax on your way there!

The sun can be intense, even if the temperature feels moderate and EVEN IF IT’S CLOUDY. Please trust me on this one, your girl is an esthetician as well and a huge backer of wearing sunscreen daily. Always carry water, wear sunscreen, and don a hat and sunglasses to protect against UV rays. This is your chance to have a cute parasol moment, grab that accessory and feel your fit without the burn.

1. Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

It’s about 85 miles northeast of San Diego, Anza-Borrego is California’s largest state park and a haven for wildflower enthusiasts. This year, thanks to recent rains, areas like Henderson Canyon Road are showcasing vibrant displays of sand verbena, desert sunflowers, and desert primrose. The bloom is expected to continue through mid-May, but it’s best to visit soon as the desert heat can quickly diminish the flowers.

2. Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve

Situated in northern Los Angeles County, this reserve is renowned for its rolling hills blanketed with California poppies.
